If you are just like most people who are very new to electronic cigarettes, you are probably wondering how it works and, more importantly, if they taste like real tobacco cigarettes. In this article, we are going to talk more about this type of product and what you can expect from using it. First off, though, a little history.
The very first electronic cigarettes were made in China and exported to the United States and Europe in 2003. While China-made e-cigs were popular, they eventually fell out of favour after reports that they were being used as drug delivery devices. Of course, we don’t know for sure if it’s really true. However, we do know shortly thereafter the United States and the different countries in Europe started to make their own e-cigs.
What are e-cigarettes and why are they call as such? They are basically pen-sized devices that allow you to vaporise flavoured liquids so you can enjoy smoke them, just like you would a bong device or a hookah. The people who are die-hard fans of electronic cigarettes never say that they smoke e-cigs, they proudly claim that they “vape”. And they are a proud tribe as you will find many vaping communities out there that hold regular meetups for support and for exchanging information on the best vaping products on the market.
An electronic cigarette has three parts, the cartridge containing the flavoured liquid, the vaporising chamber and the battery that powers the vaporising chamber to turn the flavoured liquid into vapour that can be puffed like an electronic cigarette. And oh, there is also the mouthpiece where all the magic happens.
Electronic cigarettes are called as such because their very first incarnations looked like fake cigarettes. Back then, they were sold as disposable times. Fast forward to almost 20 years and you will see that e-cigs have evolved. They no longer look tacky and you will find products that do not look like vaping devices at all.
Most people who are new to using e-cigs are enticed by the promise that they can quit smoking tobacco cigarettes. However, the truth about this promise is that you will only replace a smoking habit with another smoking habit. The only difference is that you can control the amount of nicotine that enters your body. Also, since the flavoured liquids do not contain any tar and carcinogens, they are presumably safer.
If you search for it online, you will see that there are many e-cigarette brands out there and there are even more brands of liquids. Which one do you choose? Well, just like anything else, we think you can never go wrong if you would only do a little research and take a look at the different magazines and forums online. They are great sources of information on which brands are worth your time.
Be prepared, though, because the great brands are often very expensive and cost upwards of £100 or even £200.
