What is an E-Cigarette?

E-cigarettes are a new type of product designed to help you
stop smoking. People who have been smoking cigarettes for
years will know just how difficult it is to give up, despite the
wide number of smoking cessation aids currency on the
market. Thankfully, E-cigarettes are a new type of aid which
are able to mimic the way smokers act - and therefore trigger the release of serotonin in the brain, much the same way that a normal cigarette would.

In this article, we’ll take a look at exactly what an E-cigarette is - by breaking down the parts of the E-cigarette, and looking at the ways in which you are able to use one to help you.

Parts of an E-cigarette

The first thing you will notice about an E-cigarette is that it looks very similar to a normal cigarette. On some models, even the fine details such as the colour differences and filter smell have been kept in place - creating an authentic experience for the user.

The main parts of an E-cigarette are:

• Filter
• Body (which contains the mechanical part of the E-cigarette)
• Battery
• LED Light

As you can obviously see, an E-cigarette differs from the make up of a real cigarette in that it does not contain any tobacco, weed, or any other plant material for that matter. The cigarette is completely electronic - and even the real smoke that it produces does not contain any of the harsh chemicals which could be found in real cigarettes.

Operation of an E-cigarette

Essentially, to operate an E-cigarette, all you need to do is charge it up, install the appropriate filter and combustion pack, and then take a puff. E-cigarettes work because the battery allows a heater inside the cigarette to ignite a power which is stored in the filter of the device.

These filters are the only part of the device which need to be changed and replaced on a regular basis - when the powder runs out. This powder combusts, and turns in to smoke, which can then be inhaled by the user in to the lungs. Thankfully, this powder is not a chemical based one - and therefore inhalation of the powder is completely safe.

As you can see, the action of smoking the cigarette is much the same as if you were smoking a real cigarette, and therefore the brain is essentially tricked in to thinking that it is getting the real thing - when in actual fact it is simply an E-cigarette.
